A Day of Thanksgiving

Today across the country and beyond, families sit at the table to give thanks for all the blessings of the years gone by and the years to come. This day should be a symbol of togetherness for all people of all faiths. Many seek to divide us and belittle the holidays and values they represent, but the majority remembers that though these few vocal ones may scream, they do not hold sway here.

This day is somewhat sad for me of late, since my parents passing a few years gone, but I look forward on these days to the future and I’m grateful for the friends and family I haven’t lost along the way. So as you munch on turkey, stuffing and pie today, remember not just your family and friends who surround you, but those who cannot be here too.

Happy Thanksgiving!
